Buffalo, NY Chapter

The Buffalo NY Ocean Coalition was founded in 2017 by Stephanie Krueger, a passionate ocean advocate who saw the opportunity and importance of an inland movement to protect our ocean and waterways. Being on Lake Erie, this chapter has an opportunity to raise awareness on the global issue of plastic pollution, as it is also a growing issue in our Great Lakes.
Stephanie Krueger grew up in Buffalo, NY and has always had a love for nature and curiosity for its inhabitants. Her goal is to educate the public on issues our waterways are facing in NY and how we are contributing to global issues such as climate change, plastic pollution, and overfishing. Through education and advocacy she hopes to inspire people to make small, easy changes that will lead to a healthier planet for all.
Some events held in the past include beach clean ups, online fundraising, outreach and education, and participation in the Suck the Straws Out campaign. We will continue to build relationships with organizations and businesses in the area in order to expand our message and spark positive change in the community.
