The Prairie Ocean Coalition was founded in 2014 by Mavis McRae in Winnipeg, Canada. The chapter has continued with education and outreach through social media, particularly around plastic pollution, choosing reef-safe personal care products, climate change, and sustainable seafood. The chapter also promoted local ocean and water events and activities through social media. The Prairie Ocean Coalition is looking for additional support in the Manitoba region to help with further outreach, community engagement, and event planning.
